I know you know, I haven't forgotten about you, life just gets in between and we lose tracks of minutes, hours and weeks. Cassie, Michael, Kelly and I always keep you in our conversations. I like to go through our moments..how hard we used to laughed!! I can pictured you next to me, like if it was yesterday..I can pictured every wrinkle of your hands and face...each of them.... I am sure you know that. Your hands, your character..your heart, I haven't met anyone like you...such a perfect blend.
My Jessica rest well knowing the ones you loved are doing well and think about you all the time.

Jessica was my first college roommate in 2000, in Ohio. We had a french class together and we would stay up late, listening to Janis Joplin and smoking cloves. She could never let her favorite songs play all the way through the stereo--she would restart them again and again. She urged me to read Virginia Woolf, which I did, and I remember her being so mad that the movie "Orlando" left out the best parts. She introduced me to one of her favorite movies, "Out of Africa." We'd sit in the living room together and study--she would have a book of british poetry open on one leg, the dictionary on the other, and she would read interesting things to me out loud.

We kept in touch sporadically over the years, but recently lost touch. This is the first I'm hearing of her death and I just emailed her a few months ago, as I found myself missing her. I'm shocked and saddened with the news of her death.
